Personality
Almost entirely dedicated to the persuit of knowledge, Cafa is prone to peppering anyone and everyone she meets with questions, many of which people would likely find invasive. If you're someone with an interesting aether signature, or an unusual invention or piece of technology, you're someone who would very likely attract her attention. And once someone or something has attracted her attention, its very difficult to be rid of it. She's very oblivious of social cues and norms, having largely grown up on her own. So its not uncommon for her to accidentally say something offensive without realizing
She is an inventor by trade, owner and sole employee of Camoa's Creations. Many of the devices she carries with her were either made by her, or are modified version of prexisting technology. She is more than willing to run experiments on willing participants, or herself, if need be. Its not terribly uncommon to find her with singed hair, or bruised skin, all in the sake of knowledge.
She isn't, however, cruel, and although she may not always succeed, she is entirely dedicated to improving the lives of herself and those around her. In her own, somewhat oblivious way, she does care about her fellow person and is always willing to lend a hand when and where she can... even if that hand isnt necessarily wanted
Background
Cafa never knew her parents. Never knew of her homeland. Never knew of much of anyone at a young age other than the people that made up her Ishgardian orphanage. And even there she wasnt particularly popular among her peers. The other kids though her strange, and the caretakers, while they did their best, didn't seem to care much for her rebellious nature. It wasn't uncommon for orchestrions, clocks, and any other nature of technology to be in a constant state of function and not, due to her incessant tinkering
One place she was welcome as she got older was the Skysteel Manufactory, where her inate curiousity was welcome and her growing mechanical skills would prove to be a great benefit. Once she was old enough, she would begin offical employ there, and would continue to work there for quite some time. She gained a reputation as an eccentric but brilliant engineer, that was capable of fixing most things should people need it.
One incident however, would ultimately lead to her leaving town. Inspired by the nouliths she witnessed another once traveling with, she would modify a collection of her own, to suit the functionality of her needs. Combined with her knowhow from working at Skysteel, she would make a pair that was a bit more useful as a weapon, but were also capable of acting independently as necessary. One unfortunate run in with a noble later, one she refuses to talk about to this day, that noble would find himself shot in the leg via her newfound weaponry. Though not exiled, Cafa would decide to leave Ishgard, where she's been on the move ever since.

Cafa is a creator of a number of inventions, many successful, though a few not. If you're a fellow tinkerer then she certainly has a number of questions for you!
Failures
Cafa has a number of stories she can tell of invetions gone awry. Often insisting that failure is the mother of innovation, she's more than willing to discuss most of her failed creations!
Aether
Those with aethersight abilities or technology like her own would be able to note that she's particularly light on aether herself. Though she herself is unsure why, she is willing to discuss what that has meant for her past and future
